3 days 2 nights

THE EXPERIENCE

These shorter trips are awesome if you only have a couple of days but are looking for a remote experiance. Wildlife is abundant! Fish, moose, bears, eagles, ermines, otters, lynx, wolverines, the list goes on! 2:1 angler to guide ratio per boat. Throughout the couple of days on the river you might find yourself learning something new or getting better at something you need some work on.

THE FISHING

All of these rivers have good native leopardy rainbows, dollies, and grayling. Salmon will be in the mix of things depending on the month, species, and river.  I like fishing 9' 6-7wts because these fish are strong and make hard runs toward structures that you need to wrestle them out of. We are usually fishing 0X unless the conditions call for something smaller. If we have a chance at catch and release Kings we will want something heavier like a 8-10wt. Sockeye and the other salmon species are fun on an 8wt and can pull with some serious horsepower.

WEATHER

The weather in Alaska is unpredictable. We can experience 90s or 40s with rain depending on the week. One of the most concerning things about the weather is being able to travel to and from the river safely. There is always a chance with these trips that we will be delayed to get in or our flights to get out will be delayed possibly for days. We bring extra provisions in the rare event our ride can’t pick us up as scheduled.

DISCLAIMERS

These trips are super comfortable and well thought out but are not a week at a lodge. They are physically demanding and as the client you will need to be mobile. There obstacles that will require you to get in and out of the boat, lift +25lbs, stand for long periods, and bend a lot of rods.
