FACTS

Appearance:

   - Coho salmon have a silvery color with a slightly darker back.

   - During spawning, males develop a hooked nose and females exhibit a reddish coloration.

   - Also called silver salmon or silvers.

Size:

   - Medium-sized among Pacific salmon.

Habitat:

   - Found in the Pacific Ocean and associated rivers, ranging from North America to Japan.

Lifecycle:

   - Like other Pacific salmon, they hatch in freshwater, migrate to the ocean to grow, and return to their natal streams to spawn.

Diet:

   - Feed on various prey, including small fish and invertebrates, during their time in the ocean.
